It is likely that you'll face mobs with HP in the thousands, but your damage being only in the tens. Here are ways to increase your damage.

Personal Damage Increase
There are mechanics in the server that allows you to increase your damage output. Here is a non-comprehensive list of ways to increase your damage, and the output when using a Netherite Sword.
JUMP CRITICS
When you hit an enemy after jumping, just before you land, you will deal MUCH more damage. Furthermore, higher jumps will deal SLIGHTLY more damage.

INERTIAL DAMAGE
When moving faster, your damage will increase based on your "apparent inertia". This type of damage will continue to be buffed as the server ages.
